The Word Ugly Is Misused. ( Soliloquy)

The Word Ugly Is Misused. ( Soliloquy)

Note: Gempo is a middle aged man, who is depressed due to deform of his face. He wishes that only if this deform was some sort of a battle scar that he can be proud of. Perhaps a deform that was actually useful to him, which granted him intelligence. But nothing like that sort of thing can happen as he is mistreated because of his face he goes through a hard time facing crowd and people.

Emotion: Angry, Resent, grief and witty at the same time.

Setting: In a park where people are enjoying their holiday , where he is being stared and looked down upon as people pass by him. When he was just trying to relax in a park full of people. The eyes showed disgust with not a single kindness. A person mutters " Ewww Ugly"  as he passes by him, it was the last straw for Gempo.

Gempo: Have you people heard the news lately? If you haven´t, let me rebroadcast it for you. Here at the place where you have put me, the centra of your attention! Now listen well because what I am about to tell you is the truth and you might want to cover your ears that is meant to listen. That is what you all do right? Try to live in the fantasy all you like, but you have to face the truth. Today you will hear me speak these truths, out of my tongue that you people use it as a tool of silence. Did you know that a girl who was just 12, was molested, raped and then murdered ? She was thrown into the river like she was some kind of a plastic wrapper, used and not wanted. There are another two case similar to the one I told, the only difference is the girl´s age decreasing in the other two. There was a robbery which cost a live of an innocent single mother, who had four kids. Imagine what the kids are going through right now, how they miss their mother and lastly. There was a car accident, which took lives of six as the two cars crashed and the police found something interesting. Five packets of beer bottles, three bottles of whiskey and a large amount of packets of cigarettes in the car where four youths were killed.

All of this happening right under your noses and you have the guts to say I am ugly? Don´t judge me, we don´t live in this utopia! Where everything is perfect, just like that I am also a part of this imperfection. But you don´t have the right to say that I am ugly, trust me I know what is ugly.

Ugly are those who care about no one but themselves, ugly are those people who can´t get enough of money, ugly are the ones that love to hurt the other person for pleasure and I am not ugly. For I am just a simple man living his life in this simple world, where you people make it so complicated.

You people here disgust me, all your eyes and the stares. Thinking nothing but about yourselves, not considering my feelings that I too am human and that I might also get hurt. If I were in your place I would have offered some kindness to this man * Points at himself* instead of giving him the eyes and harsh compliments.

Now that I said what I wanted, get out of my sight because I can´t bare to look at all these ugly faces of yours.

* Sits on the bench and relaxes*

About the Monologue.

I was at the central park trying to get some fresh air, when I heard some people giggling and staring as they walked passed by a bench. On the bench was a man with a huge scar on his face, it was unknown how he got the scar but it is disheartening to see people laugh and stare at him for who he was. So I decided to write this. Trying to see from the man´s view, how he must have felt and what thoughts he might be having.
