David Burd Aka Lil Dicky.

David Burd Aka Lil Dicky.

If you are a Hip-Hop fan you might already know this rapper that hit the charts in the year 2013, when releasing his mega hit “ Ex-Boyfriend”. He is a commonly known as Lil Dicky, his stage name that he chose for a catchy name where everyone can remember him by. So what makes him so good compare to the other rappers out there?

He was born on march 15th 1988 at Chaltenham township, municipality in Pennsylvania. Back then he was known as David Andrew Burd, a creative boy who everyone loved and was found extremely funny at the same time. Not only that he was smart in classes and all the teachers loved little David back in his school days. All though David had an interest in acting, comedy and rap, his said he needed to have a second option if rapping didn´t work out. After high school he graduated from the Richmond Robins School of Business in 2010 at the top of his class. Meaning this guy is smart, most rapper now days don´t even have good background in education and don´t even start with the lyrics. So you can say that he is in some way a role model to young adolescents out there.

Once he finished getting his degree David started working for an advertisement company, all though it might have gotten him close to what he wanted to do. David never liked his job he clearly expresses what issues he had in one of his interview. He wanted to be an actor and a comedian, soon he thought the best way to do that is through rap and wanted to post funny and a bit embarrassing video of himself in the internet. David´s parents and his Girlfriend weren´t so fond of the idea and tried to change his mind.

So David Burd ended up losing his relationship and the chance for him getting other jobs in the business area. He started making mix tapes and working so hard and finally reached where he is now.

He is considered one of the most amazing lyricist in Hip-Hop as he writes rap songs most people won´t even dare try writing about because it just doesn´t match with the idea what rap is. Lil Dicky proved everyone wrong releasing songs like “Save that Money”. Where he raps about saving money and being cheap at the same time. In the year 2015 he released a song called ´Molly´ featuring Brendon Urie, where is tells a story of how he missed his ex girlfriend after the break up. Which proved that he can be emotional too, it brought out his human nature and still remains one of his best songs. The year 2019 he also released the most famous song about saving earth called `Earth´. The music video and the song being funny, witty, bold and environmental friendly quickly won the fans over and made history.

David is one of the most inspiring person in the 21st century, his parents and others didn´t support his idea but faced all the challenges and became the man he is right now. His life story is something everyone should read once to get motivation or inspiration from.

He makes his life a joke for everyone to laugh about, one most people won´t even think of doing. In his new television series called `Dave´ where it is loosely based on his life story, he shows us how insecure he is for having a small penis. If you haven´t watched it you are in for a treat, there are lots of jokes based on his life that everyone can laugh at.

So even if you aren´t a rap fan you will surely love his jokes, as little Dicky has one of the most funny songs and videos in this modern time.

Bhutan´s Forgotten Legend

Bhutan´s Forgotten Legend

It is said that Dupthob Jangkha Lap was a swordsmith, who traveled from places and would forge one of the most beautiful and powerful swords. The reason why he kept traveling is still unknown, in fact many of the thing of his life is unknown to this day. The legend has it, that when Dupthob Jangkha Lap came to Thimphu, he resided near Chimmi Thangkha Village which was located in the outskirts of Thimphu. He hears some rumor that the local governor was looking for a swordsmith. Someone who could forge him one of the best known Patang ( Bhutanese sword). Not sure if it is true or not, Dupthob Jangkha Lap begins his work to forge the best blades anyone had ever seen. He worked triedlessly for days and nights, when finally he had forged 12 blades and called them Lungdri Chenm.

Satisfied with his work, he went to present it to the governor and he told him that it can kill and cut through anything. The governor examined the blades and it was said that the blades were much lighter than anything he had every held for battle, the governor was unsure if it could cut without breaking. It reflected the governors image on it as he held it, Dupthob Jangkha Lap praised his creation. So to test its might, the governor swung the sword towards Dupthob Jangkha Lap. It is said that the blade was so sharp it cut Dupthob Jangkha Lap in half with a clean cut.

The blades in time had different wielders and got lost in time of civil war but to this day three still remain. The first specimen is stored in the Dechen Phodrang monastery, located in Thimphu. The second is located in the Punakha Dzong. The third piece is held by the Talo Gyalp statue, inside theTalo monastery. It is not known whether these swords were forged by Jangkha Lap or one of his disciples.

Only this much is known from the myths that is passed down orally from people, there is still so much more we can discover and explore. Dupthob Jangkha Lap was a mysterious man people are forgetting as time passes, if we dont give him written accounts and credits for his talent there will come a day where he is forgotten for good. That day will be sad because there is a saying People dont die because of getting killed, they truly die when they are forgotten.

The Letter

The Letter

Dear Lemo

Lately I feel like I am being watched, no matter where I go, I get these feelings I have this guardian spirit near me. If I am about to do something bad, I get some dust blown in my eyes or either a small cut on my hands. It reminds me that to change my mind, telling me that the outcome won´t be good.

When I am about to make a decision, I get stuck sometimes. Not knowing which to choose or take but then I suddenly get call if none of the choice are good. If I am to choose a restaurant for my lunch break with friends, I get strong feelings that I should choose that particular restaurant. After the decision is done and I am about to pay the bill sometimes I meet people who are very kind enough to pay my bills. I don´t know why. Maybe is just a coincidence but I can´t help but feel there is someone or something that´s watching over me.

If you are watching over me thank you, I think you want what´s best for me even now and want me to succeed in life. I have been trying, mostly I been failing but that´s all I can do for now ´Try´ I hope I succeed in the future. Thank for watching over me, wish you stayed for a while.

Yours Son

Mushroom Hunting With Pongpa Dorji

Mushroom Hunting With Pongpa Dorji

Pongpa, also known as Kazang Dorji is a friend of mine who apparently lives at Buddha Dordenma ( Buddha Point). We went to meet him the day before, it was me and group of friends who were just bored. When calling Pongpa he agreed to come all the way down to till Druk School to get us, if you are familiar with the roads of Buddha Dordenma, then you will know that is about 5km from Druk School till Buddha Point. He is friend who doesn´t seem to want his friends to suffer alone, a lovely friend who takes a cab to come down and is willing to talk with a lovely walk up the roads to Buddha point.

So we were walking up and talking about some silly thoughts that came in our heads as we took each steps. When a first drop of rain rain hit my forehead and after that followed a sudden flushing rain from the skies. We ran to get shelter but as we ran I saw something on my friends face that I would remember forever, a smile. A smile on each of their faces laughing and joking about how cruel and yet amazing life can be. Dechen told us that we soaking in rain but imagine the fields of the farmers getting water, imagine the fishes getting time to live for the fisherman can´t take the storm and decided to go home. We all agreed to that and also made some jokes about Dechen´s new philosophy, until the rain was too much that we stopped a cab and took a ride up to Pongpa´s house.

We were all soaked, we dried ourselves with a towel and it suddenly occurred to me. I suggested that we go for mushroom hunt, like in the olden days where after the rain people usually go to look for mushrooms in the forest. Near Buddha point was a national park where most people go for picnic and to hang out. It has a rich biodiversity where sometimes Bangal tigers even roam as it makes the journey up the hills. We joked around saying if the tiger attacks the first person, he would go for a dandy meal would be Pongpa due to his chubby figure.

As Pongpa laughed together with us, we drank our last sip of tea and surprisingly even the Gods seem to favour us. The rain had stopped, we took some plastic bags and we were off into the wild. We had to be careful of the types of mushrooms, sadly we had no experts with us but we did had Pongpa who knows a thing or two about mushrooms. So he was our hero for the day, mushrooms were very hard to come by, we kept our eyes on a look out. We only spotted some and most of them didn´t look edible.

Ahhh we can´t seem to find many mushrooms today, Well we would have some mushrooms in these bags if Pongpa didn´t eat them every time we found one.” Said one of my friends and we all burst into laughter.

After walking for 30 minutes and searching every corner, we only managed to collect few and most didn´t look edible. Mushroom hunting is actually very fun even if we don´t get mushrooms, is a memory to cherish under the blue skies. Also one must be careful not picking but eating mushrooms without caution.

When I reached home my sister told me only four of the mushrooms are edible and they belonged in the family of Cantharellus Cibariuscan family of mushrooms. So my readers be careful while eating mushrooms.

Why One Must Never Give False Hope.

Why One Must Never Give False Hope.

Some say `Hope´ is a dangerous thing, others say ´Hope´is an expectation our heart just make up. Hope can never be bad because as humans we need hope to keep us alive and well. Many people feel afraid to even hope for something good and always think negative. Well the reason people fear hope is because they been given false hope. Now that is very dangerous, people give false hope to others in time where you get drunk. Well not literally drunk but when they are drunk with emotions, example when a doctor feels so sad for his patient because he has a heart cancer and the doctor lies to his patient saying he has two more years to live, when the patient has only a month. Now imagine you are the patient and thinking you have time. You plan everything to do next year for your bucket list, and...

Well that is unfortunate, you couldn´t make it and you couldn´t even say goodbye to your families. False hope can not only destroy the people around you but at the same time even destroy you. The doctor might get fired as he gave the wrong predictions or he might not get as many patients like before. For the families of the patient they might not know why death occurred so suddenly after a month but it would kill them from inside not getting to say goodbye. For you as the doctor would have to live in regret forever knowing that it was you who killed him.

People give false hope all the time without even realizing it, when you say you will be there to watch your son´s basketball match but you have a meeting at 3pm. When you say " I love you" just to make him happy but you aren´t sure from your heart. That small time when you promise do something for someone but you know it can´t happen. Think of all the dreams you destroyed just because you wanted to give that person temporary happiness. In a way false hope is like ´orgasm´ you feel so happy for sometime but quickly drown yourself in reality.

So if false hope is so bad, what should you do? Tell them the harsh truth. It maybe hard and it maybe something most people won´t dare to do but is for the best. They might hate you for it but in time people will realize that it was for the best. You should never live a life holding on to that regret for giving false hope to someone. Of course if you don´t feel regret then you are evil lol.

" It is better to live in a harsh truth than to live in a blissful lie," one must tell the truth to not give false hope.

Wasted Talent ( Monologue)

Wasted Talent ( Monologue)

* Pema is just about to perform in front of thousands of people. She has just heard that her Talented in music Friend has taken his own life, Setting: on a stage ready for a play, she improvises her lines and does another monologue not the one she was planning to do before*

Emotion : Mostly Sad but anger with confusion and scorn together.

Pema Yogibear : * Wipes her tears* Okay.... Listen. All of you here , I know there is someone here. Who dreams, who dreams that one day you wake up and you become the person you always wanted to be. A musician, an Actor , a writer , an entrepreneur and... it goes on. You have to know that road you have taken, doesn´t come with plain smooth golden asphalt layed out just for you. It comes in black hue to drain your motivation and inspiration, with it huge cracks below your feet waiting for the moment you fall in, to trap you inside. There will also be long rusty nails to make you feel the unbearable pain that people have thrown just for you. * Takes a deep breath because is too much*

Those are all there waiting just for you, if you decide to take a road to your dream.... A friend of mine was found hanging on a halter. It pains me because I believed in him, this guy who had such talent, such voice and his lyrics just hit me every time I listened to him sing.

He had no financial gain from it, no recognition but he didn´t care because he had one thing he loved with him.

He had taken the road few dare to take, the black brick road and he did it for so long until he found himself trapped in a huge crack with his feet pierced with rusty nails of people´s critics. He gave up...

I urge you people here, if you take the road don´t forget what all this is about? Is about you reaching the end with few people and friends who believed in you because you aren´t walking alone. There will be friends to pull you out of those cracks, there will be friends who can clean the road for you. You can´t do it all alone and you may feel that they have disconnected from you but they are always there for you.

All you have to do it reach out for help when you need them.

About the Monologue

Sometimes people just give up, is sad to see people take their own lives. I have been hearing so many news about people killing themselves this year. From Movie stars to all of the people who tried their best but could not succeed. So I wrote this as to bring awareness.
