The Winter Screen

The Winter Screen by Dorji Gyeltshen

I stare at this winter screen, cold and windy,

Near it the lamp, which bears my fire

Try it may, to blow it away

It shall freeze my surface glass, slowly

But never to reach the protected fire

My fire burns for every tries

The winter falls for every fails

My fire burns the snowflakes

Becoming smaller as it fights

Then comes a time, where it burns

Entire winter that I faced

The lamp that held my fire strong inside
