The Love Letter

The Love Letter by Dorji Gyeltshen

There was a letter which she read
Filled with words of emotion
That the ink had bleed
Where her heart was won
By a stranger she never met
The metaphors was a contribution

The letter did say this
"I hope you understand
I am not just writing words
But my heart in this piece of paper
This paper, yet white and beautiful Conveys no message
Until a black ink is printed to it.
Now I have realized
You are the ink to my paper
You add meaning to my dull life"
The sharpest arrows didn't miss

The heart felt whole again
By the words of ink
For this letter from a man
She believed in love
For just once in her life here.
